"The CAP Program was a great way for me to see what Trojan Alumni are up to in the real world. I not only got to form a meaningful relationship with my mentor, but also got to learn from professionals in different industries. As finance major, I learned a great deal about the finance world through my mentor's acquaintances in the business world. It was a privilege being a part of the program and I am thankful for being given the opportunity to connect with the Trojan Family."

The Career Advantage MENTORING Program (CAP) is offered through the Marshall Undergraduate Student Services Office, and provides sophomore, junior and senior-level undergraduates the opportunity to be paired with Marshall alumni who assist them in developing the professional, interpersonal and networking skills. Mentors and their groups of three to four students connect and grow through professional development and social activities.

FOR STUDENTS
Participating in the CAP Program requires a commitment for all students. CAP is a year-long program. Mentoring relationships are two-way and you WILL need to contribute and attend all of the events that your mentor and your team plan -- attendance will be tracked! Students who “flake out” on mentors at the last minute, who do not respond to mentor emails in a timely fashion, who do not show interest in the program, etc. will be removed from the program as necessary.
Please be sure to think about WHY you want to join the program before applying. Don’t over schedule yourself! For information about how to apply to CAP:

FOR MENTORS
We are seeking mentors with at least five years of work experience in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing, law, entrepreneurship, consulting, real estate and management. We require that mentors be located in Southern California and that they travel less than 25% in order to participate in this program. Mentors should be able to mentor a team of 2 - 3 undergraduate students for an entire academic year.
